Book 1 - Jax has black fur and a green tail, and is adopted by Betty and Billy (Betty’s twin brother). They live near Columbia, Missouri, in a two-story house on the edge of town. Jax, Betty, Billy and their friends go on a treasure hunt after Billy finds a clue in the book “Treasure Island”, which he checked out of the library.
Book 2 - Lola has white fur and a red tail, and is adopted by Aurelie. Aurelie and her family live near Gator Bayou, Louisiana, where her father runs a fishing camp. Lola, Aurelie and her friends balance being in the Gator Festival talent show with trying to convince their parents that the Thibodeaux brothers (Jean Baptiste and Pascal) are running an illegal moonshine still.
Book 3 - Azul has blue fur and a gold tail, and is adopted by Dakota. Dakota and her family live near Deadwood, South Dakota, where her parents run an ice cream parlor in town. Azul, Dakota and her friends Maria, Tex and Sheriff go panning and prospecting for gold in their spare time, help save a man from investing in a “salted” gold mine, and make an exciting discovery.
Book 4 - Lolly is calico, with white, orange and black fur, and a silver tail, and is adopted by Kiki. Kiki and her family live near Fort Davis, Texas, and run a dude ranch. Lolly, Kiki and her friends Toni, Peat and Repeat participate in a rodeo, explore a ghost town for Stagecoach Bart’s $10,000 worth of stolen $20 gold double eagles, help catch two crooks, and more.
Book 5 - Fog has gray fur and a white tail, and is adopted by Abigail and her younger sister Emma. Abigail and Emma’s family live near Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and run a trail ride and camping company for trips into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Abigail, Emma and their Cherokee friends, Bear and White Owl, help with the trail rides and camping, perform in a music contest and help catch crooks trying to steal Cherokee Indian artifacts.
Book 6 - Amber has orange fur and a blue tail, and is adopted by Jess and her brother Jon. Jess, Jon and their family live near Kennett, Missouri, in the bootheel area, and run a small country store. Jess, Jon and their friends Mel and Mac help the twins Tom and Terrie to finish building a flatboat, and race with them and their cargo of flour, sheep and chickens in the Sons and Daughters of the Mississippi River’s Flatboat Race down the Mississippi river.
Book 7 - Kane adopts Mari and Carwyn before Star and her older brother Comet were born. They own the Golden Dragon, an asteroid mining space ship. Along with Star’s friend Rose and Comet’s friend Bramble (Rose’s brother), they find an abandoned space ship, make an exciting discovery, and get caught by and escape Space Pirates (who they help capture). Kane has to make an important decision which results in his meeting Dona. Kane and Dona later become the parents of the kittens.
